Tooling cost depends on cavities, complexity, and steel grade. Typical ranges: simple 1-cavity P20 tool $3k-$8k; 4-cavity production tool $15k-$40k; 16-cavity high-volume tool $50k-$150k; medical-grade S136 stainless tools 30-50% higher. India is typically 30-50% cheaper for tooling than China for equivalent quality.
Can you handle two-shot or over-molding?
Yes. Several Magnus suppliers operate two-shot machines (multi-component injection) for combining rigid + soft TPE in a single cycle — common for tool handles, toothbrushes, sealing components. Over-molding (insert molding) for metal-to-plastic bonding is also supported for connectors, hand tools, and electronics.
Do you support USP Class VI medical-grade molding?
Yes. Three Magnus suppliers are certified for medical molding under ISO 13485, with USP Class VI material handling, Class 8 cleanroom molding (10k particles/m³), and full material traceability. Common medical-grade resins: PC (Makrolon Rx), PEEK, PSU, PPSU, COC, certain PP grades.
